Autographs… Buy Authenticated Only

Autograph collecting can be challenging because there is a lot to think about when you invest your money. If autograph collecting is of interest to you, there are two factors to consider. The first is… personalized vs generic. If you are investing in an autograph for the purpose of resale, don’t get them personalized. Autographs that are personalized to a person using their specific name, severely limits the resale. If you are going to try to resell an autograph, it’s best to get a generic version without any personalization. This will open up more flexibility in the market.

The second factor to consider when collecting autographs is… fake vs authentic. You have to be careful because there are a lot of fake autographs out in the marketplace. You should never buy an autograph that has not been certified by a reputable authentication agency like PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) or GAI (Global Authentics). Always make sure the autograph has been authenticated before you buy the item. If you don’t, you have little to no recourse after the item is purchased.
